Rose Lovelace, Program Coordinator

Rose Lovelace has been with the Institute for African American Studies since 1989. As Program Coordinator, Ms. Lovelace has a broad range of responsibilities including office management, coordination of faculty searches, and supervision of activities related to the Institute's Critical Issues Lecture Series.

In addition, she is instrumental in the preparation and distribution of the IAAS newsletter, and has been a valuable resource to both faculty and students. Always devoted to IAAS outreach activities, she has taken the initiative in organizing events which have brought high school students and teachers to campus.

In the past year, Ms. Lovelace has attended a number of conferences and workshops relevant to her work for IAAS, including the annual meeting of the Association for the Study of Afro-American Life and History and the African American Women on Tour conference. All associated with IAAS are benefitted by the truly outstanding work Ms. Lovelace does, as well as by the warmth and generosity of her character.
