Classes start on Thursday, 1/22/98 at 9:30am in Room 223, W. B. Young Building.

More information will be posted when the class is in session.

STATU123.ZIP - A STAT TUTOR program for learning statistical concept.

EC411EX2.DAT - Data for exercise #2.

EC411EX3.PRG - A program for exercise #3.

AnsEx4.pdf - Answer to Exercise #4. You need an Acrobat Reader to read it.

Midterm Grades - Scores of midterm examination, sorted.

Note on Exercise #6 - The reference of (6.2.29) and (6.2.31) refers to page 131 in ITPE1 (the 1st edition). In ITPE2 (the 2nd edition), they are on pages 196-197 as (5.5.23) and (5.5.25). For those who have problem printing their results, you need to specify first the output file by a command OPEN "filespec" FOR OUTPUT AS #2 and then replace all your PRINT command by "PRINT #2," by using search and replace option of editing. Note that filespec includes diskdrive, file name, and file extension.

Econometrics Quiz 1 - click to try an experimental test on line.

Suggestions for Exercise #9 - Show how to construct P and Psi matrices.

Exercise #11 - Do 9.6.6 and 9.6.7 on page 411. (Due 4/28/98)

Exercise #12 - Do 19.1, 19.2, and 19.3 on page 803. (Due 5/2/98) For the probit model, you need the SHAZAM command DISTRIB with the option INVERSE to compute the inverse function of F and use the option CRITICAL= to save the critical values. For normal distribution, the option is TYPE=NORMAL. For f function, use PDF= to save the values.

ECTESTII.ZIP - Unzip the file and execute ECTESTII.COM in DOS to test your Basic Knowledge in Econometrics. Each test is a random choice of different 20 true-false questions from a pool of 72. If you want to exhaust all 72 questions, you must test yourself many times. Try as many times as you wish. Hand in the encrypted file ECONOMET.CRY on the day of final examination to show your study effort. I hope this practice will help you review the course material for the final exam. You can monitor your own progress by evaluating the statistics listed at the end of the test. You need a password to unzip the program. This program tests only about single equation problems. Simultaneous equations are not included.

The Final Exam is on 5/8/98 from 8:00-10:00 in WBY Building, Room 233. You may bring a simple calculator, not labtop computer or palm size computer.

Scores on final exam - Scores, notes, announcement, grades for the course, and an optional exam.
