Enterprise Server Software Changes
Date: January 6, 1997
On January 13, 1997,
the following software
changes will occur on the IBM Enterprise Server.
- SAS 6.09 Extended will be the default for CMS and MVS. SAS is used
for statistical analysis, graphing and display of data.
- ISPF Version 3, Release 2 will be the default for CMS. ISPF is used
as a full-screen, interactive environment for CMS and MVS/TSO.
It includes its own editor.
- GDDM/ICU Version 3 will be the default under CMS.
- GDDM is a
collection of graphics subroutines which are callable from high level
languages such as FORTRAN, C, etc.
- ICU is a chart creation program.
- SCA Version VI.1 will be the default under MVS. SCA consists of
of specialized statistical routines not found in SAS, SPSS and IMSL.
- APL2 Release 2.2 will be the default under CMS.
This is the latest
release of IBM's version of the APL programming language.
- GDQF Version 2 will be the default under CMS. GDQF consists of
several programs which may be used to manipulate or convert graphical
data from one format to another or for display on different devices.
- C/370 Version 2 will be the default under CMS.
This is the latest
release of IBM's version of the C programming language.
- The VTAM screen will be temporarily changed to allow for testing
of support of different screen sizes.
- New courses will be available for CRWTH (Computer Based Training).
On-line help files on the use of these products will be available
on January 13, 1997. To view an entry type:
HELP UCONN TASK
on the CMS command line
and choose the entry for which information is required from the menu.
