Computer Based Training (CBT)

Effective July 1, 1997, Computer Based Training on the enterprise server (mainframe) has been continued for one year only. If usage shows that these continue to be of value, we may renew the courses. Otherwise, they will be deleted in June, 1998.

There are a reduced number of course offerings. This is your opportunity to take advantage of the courses. The topics available are:

• Using CMS
• Using Xedit
• Basic JCL
• FOCUS - Basic and Advanced Reporting, and Reporting from DB2 Tables
• SAS - Introduction, the Language, Statistics, Advanced Features, FSP, SAS Graph
• VM REXX Application Programming
• VS COBOL II - Making the Transition
• C Language Programming - Introduction, Basic, Intermediate and Advanced
• DB2/SQL - Relational Data Base Overview and Working with DB2 Tables

Stephanie Wilson, Human Resources Program Specialist, said: "The courses are excellent!!...it was essential that I learn as much as possible as soon as possible."

Stacy Bates, Technical Records Coordinator, Registrar's Office, feels CBT "offers an alternative to leaving the office to get some training, and you don't need to free up a whole block of time to take them."

Tara Latawic, Research Analyst, Office of Institutional Research, found "One very desirable feature of computer based training to me is that the courses are always available. I do not have to wait until a course is given."
