Upcoming Enterprise Server Software Deletions/Changes

Reformatted: April 29, 1998

Program Product Deletions: Several program products will be removed from the enterprise server this summer and in the upcoming years. These products will be removed from the system because they are:

• not Year-2000-compliant;
• not being used;
• expensive, and there are alternative programs available; or
• no longer supported by the vendor and no upgrades are planned.

Program Products Scheduled for Deletion July 1, 1998: (Reference DDD00073 of 12/22/97)

Waterloo Program Products:

• Waterloo Script
• WatC
• WatFiv
• C-Tools
• WBasic
• WPascal
• WatBol
• Maple

If you have been actively using these products, you have received messages recommending that you call

• the Help Desk (486-4357) for assistance in finding a Waterloo Script alternative; or
• Viren Gupta (Program Product Specialist, at 486-1442) or Paul Parciak (Computer Technical Support Consultant, at 486-1338) for assistance with the other program products listed.

Computer Based Training: (Reference DDD00062 of 6/27/97)

On-line, enterprise-server-based, computer training courses, which include:

• CMS & XEDIT
• JCL
• SAS
• REXX
• VS COBOL II
• C PROGRAMMING
• FOCUS
• DB2, SQL/DS

Other Program Products:

• SAS 5.18

Frozen Program Products:

Certain program products will remain on the system; however, there can be no guarantee concerning how long they will operate successfully. The vendors will support the use of these products; however, they will no longer provide enhancements. These products may not run with new versions of the operating system (VM and OS/390).

Program Product Changes:

Mailbook 98 will become the default e-mail software under CMS.
