The following software changes will occur on the SP (UNIX/AIX) system.

On Saturday, March 13, 1999 - on the Control Workstation (CWS):

Operating system will be upgraded to AIX version 4.2.1.
PSSP (an OS component) will be upgraded to version 2.4.

Note: CWS hosts the SP web services.

On March 20, 1999 - on Node 1:

Operating system will be upgraded to AIX version 4.2.1.
PSSP (an OS component) will be upgraded to version 2.4.

Note: Node 1 is used by users to logon/interactive computing.

The upgrade will begin at 5:00 a.m. and will last up to 6 hours. The system will be available by 11:00 a.m. on the above days. Time permitting, some other software products may be updated as well. Messages will be posted on the initial logon screen of the SP. Node 2 will be similarly upgraded at a future date to be announced. Node 2 is used for batch processing only.
