Software Changes on the SP (UNIX/AIX) System

ATTENTION: Deans, Directors, Department Heads, and Other Interested Parties
This replaces DDD00098. Those changes were not implemented due to technical reasons.
The following software changes will occur on the SP (UNIX/AIX) system between May 14 and May 16, 1999. On Friday, May 14, 1999 - on the Control Workstation (CWS):
The upgrade will begin after 12 noon and will take 6-8 hours.
Note: The only service that will be affected during this upgrade will be the ability to change passwords on the SP.
On Saturday, May 15, 1999 - on Node 1 and Node 2:
The upgrade will begin at 5:00 a.m. and will take 6-8 hours.
Note: Node 1 is used to logon/interactively compute and hosts the SP webserver. Node 2 is used for batch processing and hosts the backup webserver.
Note: Interactive and batch will be unavailable during the upgrade.
